Mazda 2 (Old)
Overall Average Rating - 88.01%
Position in the Top 100 cars - 17th
The outgoing 2 climbs into the top 20 due to low running costs and solid, if unexciting, scores for reliability and build quality.
And despite the boxy shape and ageing chassis, you liked its nippy handling. What a pity its ride couldn’t match its agility. The new 2 is a very different proposition, but has a tough act to follow.

Manufacturer Verdict (Position - 10th)
It’s fallen one place, yet Mazda is still in the top 10. The blot in its copybook is 23rd position for running costs, although it’s offset by a fifth-placed rank in both the handling and braking categories.
