The Ford Mondeo, new model, is a big spacious econonmical car, that looks and goes well for its size, tdci 125,1.8, but does suffer badly from turbo lag, moving off and between 3 & 5th gear more so than the other gears. I have just had trouble with the ABS and the Anti Skid, warning lights have come on over that last few days, the car is book in to get sorted hopfully. So to answer the last coments I hope it will only take 1 day to sort out? I hope that it is fixed first time, and yes I have been advised that this is repairable under warranty.
Also the door handles tend to frezze very easly, after a frost they tened to stick open, and the other thing, maybe its only me but everytime you open the boot after its had water on it the water runs down the window in into the boot of the car, but this is also the same for the old vauxhall vectra, the run off for the water is the boot.

Mondeo Estate Ghia 2.0, R Reg. Never failed to start. Been amazing what it's been put through. Bought 2nd hand from a builder, so already done loads of miles, but still handles extremely well, and pulls like a train if the tires are not too cheap! Space for an estate is one of the best, as is the stock sound system - louder than most new cars I've seen. Problem: Handbrake slips to last notch and is not reliable. Never been fixed for more than a day. Seems to be known problem, though our mech says not to believe everything on the Internet - yet the documentation is proven! Better stop now. :-)

The Mondeo drives well, handles nicely but getting a bit sloppy due to old age.
Our car has lasted pretty well considering the accidents ( due to idiotic driving by others). I was clipped and spun around on a motorway in the wet which my 3 year old son and I survived to which I am very grateful.
The central locking has just started to play up, and there is water ingress from somewhere( smells like a cross between wet dog and Stilton at the moment- wonderful).

My car has been amazing over the past five odd years. Moving stock, moving house, adverse weather/road conditions my car hasn't let me down (touch wood) and has always taken care of me. Replaced the bumpers as Ford seems to fit Egg shells as standard. A bit of small maintenance now and again and one new head gasket but the body work is sound and the car is highly reliable with excellent performance.

Overall very pleased. Apart from the tin sounding door handle operation good quality throughout. Door bins are small but not a deal breaker. Bigger than my previous Passat estate, a better engine, brakes, handling, no creaking plastics, heated screen and it has a hand brake. Passat wins on little details like rubber inserts in door bins and other cubby holes. Better than the common BMW 3 series too.

Standard Ford Mondeo-very reliable, still on same clutch after 110,000 miles. Drives well, but not brilliant on fuel.Have not had to spend any money on it though.Just renewed the brakes(originals!) ,did cambelt lat year, new battery and tyres.Thats it,was going to change it this year but its so reliable and doesn't owe me a penny. Will probably keep until it finally dies,it really is that good.

I love it. I know it has a rubbish "see them everywhere" image but i don't mind. Good handling, excellent interior space, pratical 5 door layout, available cheap on the second hand market, reliable and decent looks. Weak points to me are poorish fuel economy and wind noise at speed. The only problem I ever had was a sticking brake cable which took 2 or 3 trips to sort out.

Superb all round family / work car. On very rare occasions it can feel a very big car when parking or driving in car parks, but conversely on motorways and at high speeds that same feeling of size makes you feel very weel protected. After 3 previous Mondeo's I was tempted to switch to another marque, however my decision to stick with Ford has been an excellent choice.

Fantastic it is the best car I have ever had or driven. It has never let me down or missed a beat. In fact it drives better now than when it was new. It is everything I want from a car I would say the most underated car in it's class. I am upgrading from a Zetec to a Ghia in September. This car does more than it say's on the tin. Well done Ford

Great car spoiled by too low profile tyres 225/40 18in. The Ghia X on 17 in rims would have been better. Load carryoing is excellent and motorway performance brilliant nd the economy is good too approx 47 MPG. Handbrake cable jammed at about 70000 miles, and it did the same on my previous ford so it must be a fault. Very pleased overall.

this is super if mudane car. young people wanting more style and performance should look elsewhere. it works really well and gives no problems and ALL of the minor car functions work well (heater, lights, radio, air conditioning, locks etc). I would reccommend it to anyone who wants a bigger family car.

Very impressed with the build quality. It has bags of space being 6'4" the driving possition has to be good, this car fits me in easily without the passenger behind needing to have no legs. Performance is ok but being a 1.8 diesel in a estate car you need to use the gearbox well!

It has been very good so far todate, 2 new front tyres at 38000, still on the same brakes at 43,000, (1 punture at 42500) so not too bad I dont think. (Dash display was causing problems but that now seems to have been fixed with a softwear update about 6 months ago)

New Mondeo Estate - 2.2 TDCI. It's a great people/luggage carrier, fantastic performance, great handling - whether driven on motorways or B-roads. Puts a smile on my face when I am driving. The only drawback is the fuel consumption (published versus actual).
