Getting hold of secret car pictures is supposed to be a tough business – but these days it's child's play! Hot on the wheels of the Renault Twingo CC's die-cast debut comes this unscheduled reveal of VW's new Touareg – in scale model form.
The toy cars have been leaked onto the internet and show just how the new SUV will look ahead of its official launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March. As you can see, the new Touareg gets a front end inspired by the latest Golf and Polo hatchbacks and also a full length glass roof. The rest of the shape is a softer evolution of the current Touareg.
Power for the sophisticated 4x4 will come from two new more 3.0-litre engines – a 240bhp TDI diesel and a 290bhp supercharged petrol. Expect increased interior space too, though the Touareg is likely to retain the existing model's five-seater layout. We'll have more news in the run up to the Geneva Show, which kicks off on March 1st.

A new toe rag.
What is the point of this car? I had one and it failed to deliver on so many levels
'breakdown' I'm shattered by your comment :-(( I've only just noticed these SUV's down under, or more accurately the catchy ad jingle, and they really 'look' the business. Was yours derv or petrol? I really thought VW was getting it together more and more with their cars.......
Why do so many cars these days come with Roof Bars?
In the words of my wife "it makes the car look like a Hearse!"
Surely they could be an optional extra?
I've been prevented from buying many, many makes and models of car just because of those da**ed bars!
In consequence, this is yet another model that I'll not even be allowed to look at!
