Despite this elaborate attempt to disguise itself, we’ve managed to capture the forthcoming version of Mercedes’ CLS four-door coupe testing and these pictures are the clearest yet of what the next-generation Merc will look like.
Although most of the car is still hidden, the headlights, rear lights, side mirrors, tyres and roof are all visible, allowing us to begin to build a clearer picture of what the CLS will look like when it arrives.
Notable changes include the tailpipes which will now be rectangular - similar to those found on the upcoming E-Class saloon.
When it was first launched back in 2004, the CLS was a pioneer in the sporty saloon/coupé market but the Merc will have far tougher competition second time round when it will be competing with the likes of Porsches Panamera and the Audi A7.
Under the bonnet you can expect a wide range of engines including a mix of petrol and diesel plus a new BlueHybrid version and of course the range topping CLS63 AMG with a power output expected in excess of 500bhp.
