I drive a seat leon cupra r the 210bhp model
Its by far the best car I have owned still looks rather new compared to some other makes of cars out there from 2003 period . The cars performance is great and can easly be made better ie power ,fuel economy , with a simple remap
Over all I'm still happy with the car I have a little girl now and with iso fix fittings and plenty of room in the back its a great family car with an average of 35.5 mpg motor way driving and aroung 26mpg town . Its great fun to drive has the power when needed with out the need to change down gear .
The brakes are one of the best features on the car they come with brembo 4 pots on the front with a huge 323mm disk these stop the car dead on the spot .
I'm looking at selling in the near future not because any thing is wrong with the car just I have had it for coming up four years with out any problems its great realiabity . I fancy a audi a4 s line estate 2.0 tdi purly for the fact I love them !
If your looking for a fast realible hot hatch which is packing a punch under the hood and great room for all your family buy one.

Seat Leon Cupra
This car has been the best car I have ever owned/driven. Being a more mature driver of some 30 odd years I have driven numerous cars. This car has never let me down, never needed a repair, still has the original battery and exhaust. It starts first turn of the key in the morning and allways gets me to my destination. It has a little more power than the average hatchback so its a little bit of fun as well. I have owned Alfa's, Fiats, Fords,Renaults, all have been rubbish, especially the Alfa which spent more time at the garage than on the road (V6 Engine sounded fantastic though).
My son has bought the Seat CupraR and my father a diesel Seat all on the back of my Cupra. My advise to anybody is buy a SEAT they are cheap to run and servicing costs are reasonable too.

The Cupra was to me the cheapest out of the range I looked at VW/Audi, it was seen a great value for money with the parts from Volkswagon/Audi.
It is very powerful but can be docile and I have had 40 mpg according to computer on the motorway at 70mph.
Slow speeds does does pick up holes in road and can be a nuisance but overall its flexibility on B roads makes the car very good to drive, even after owning it for 7 years it still makes me smile.
I am a test driver by ocupation so have driven many fantastic cars including the New Nissan GT-R as part of my job, yes there are better cars out there but the Seat has served me well with only minor mechanical issues blighing it, but it has never not been able to get me home, e.g coil pack failure the car still drove on to get me home

Our Leon FR TDi is superb, never had any problems. Main gripe is that the suspension is too hard (we did specify the 18 inch wheels which doesn't help) but seems to be a common issue with all Leon FRs. It does mean however that it 'corners on rails'. Economy has been great and the dealer has matched any servicing quotes AND collected and delivered the car. Considering that (particularly in Candy White that we have) it's one of the best looking cars on the road and has received many admiring looks and comments then we couldn't be more pleased.... well, except for a softer suspension but that has now been addressed on the later models!

08-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I chose The Leon as equivalent VW golf was too low on specifications for the budget I had. The build quality and performance have exceeded my expectations and I can regularly achieve 55-60mpg which come in handy covering around 40,000 miles per year. This is the second Leon I have chosen. Having had children recently I would maybe look for something with a larger boot next time.

2004-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

The car hasn't let me down yet, had a bit of bad luck with tyres at the start but all fine now. Very thirsty for fuel, high insurance and high tax. tyres a little pricey, can't say too much on parts as thankfully as of yet I haven't had to carry out a repair. service costs are pretty much standard. Acceleration and power very good.

X-reg Hybrid/Alt, Owner for More than 5 years

It's a VW / Audi at a lower price. It's well built, stylish and as I had an LPG conversion a few years ago is a fast cheap vehicle to run too.
I use it to tow a large heavy trailer sometimes which it does without complaint.
9 years and 150K miles later I still haven't replaced the exhaust !

Cost: 5/5
2006-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

It has been good to me over the time I have owned it, though it does drink oil and I am concerned about longevity. Mpg could be better (but then it's a trade off with bhp), consumes a fair amount of oil, tax is quite steep and tires need replacing every year - year and a half.

Cost: 2/5
2002-reg Diesel, Owner for less than a year

It needed a head gasket when I bought it but I knew this. since then, it's started on the key and never lets us down. So far so good, insurance is the only grind but otherwise, cheap to run and with vw's economy parts program, obtaining genuine parts is cheaper and easier.

Cost: 4/5
2004-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Engine oil flush, engine oil and filter change every 2,000 miles. adjust tyre pressures monthly and check and top up levels as needed. Brembo brakes, michelin pilot sport tyres and seat servicing parts costs arent cheap but you pay for what you get.

Cost: 3/5
59-reg Diesel, Owner for Less than a year

The FR TDi is a fat and frugal car and with the K1 bodykit trully stunning and a rea head turner. SEAT have made a good value car that goes as good as it looks. Interior looks cheaper than it feels and the new USB intergration as standard is brill.

Cost: 5/5
2011-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Never yet had a problem - no breakdowns, etc. Good running costs as far as the need for spare parts go, but 35mpg (average) is quite a bit less than the manufacturer suggests and is worse than I expected for a car which is only a year old.

Cost: 3/5
58-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Very very underated car! Badge snobs will avoid it. Just do the sums, checkout everything in detail - If you don't mind the badge, this car will tick most of the boxes for the majority of people if they gave it a chance.

Cost: 5/5
56-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Had mpg / performance issues from day 1. Still not resolved and probably never will be after 37,000 miles. Car confirms to diagnostic spec, but does not mean it`s right. Still love the styling / comfort / driving posion.

Cost: 2/5
2007-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

Okay overall but some cost-cutting with cheap components has reduced the life of parts that should last the lifetime of the car. Poor mpg even when driven lightly and expensive parts but very reasonable insurance costs.

Cost: 2/5
2004-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Never had a problem with it, always worked well, great standard for a price. seats are the best in my opinion, based on vw and audi, just cheaper as you dont pay for a badge. Great fuel consumption for a mileage I do.

Cost: 5/5
2009-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Only a few small electical niggles. steering rack was replaceed under warranty due to faulty sensor. Servicing is reasonable with fixed price services. tyres etc are expensive and dont last more than 10k on the front.

Cost: 3/5
2008-reg Petrol, Owner for less than a year

In the time that I have had the vehicle, I have not had any problems with anything on the vehicle. It's nothing to do with the car. it's the fuel and duties put on the fuel. it makes running any vehicle expensive.

Cost: 3/5
56-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

I love it it's brilliant only an electric folding mirror has failed in 3 years and 40k miles. Passed it's MOT with flying colours, still on original discs & pads - only 50% worn!!!!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!

Cost: 5/5
07-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

The Leon is the smart mans choice, cheaper, not as common and better looking than a Golf, Focus or Astra. I would recommend it to anyone, hasn't missed a beat in 3 years and I love it every time I get in it.

Cannot fault the Leon FR Tdi so much better value wise than the Golf and very sporty new Sat Nav is excellent as is the USB/iPod interface. Only downside is the slightly cheap looking centre console.

fantastic, good second car, reasonable economic and easy to conduct minor repairs yourself :)
additionally Seat really thought about the consumer and made the parts easy to use and perfectly logical

No real issues can be little slow to start at times. Servicing is relatively cheap. tyres are expensive and tried variants as well. in summer months very economic in winter less so but as expected.

Cost: 4/5
2005-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Mechanically- recent new turboother- cheap trim parts and boot latch broke. Insurance is a bit pricy for what the car is, road tax is ok I suppose!, wheel size means expensive tyres. servicing ok.

Cost: 3/5
2007-reg Diesel, Owner for 3 to 5 years

Build quality is excellent, so far I've had 3 years of rouble free motoring. Ł70 will get you 460 miles which lasts me 11 days. mpg will improve to 52 if you stay on motorway.

Cost: 3/5
2008-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

I've had car coming up for 2 years and never had any bit of bother. I only average 25mpg most of the time once on open road it's not to bad. this car is cheap to run for parts.

Cost: 4/5
2007-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Never had any problems with the car, very reliable. Annual servicing is ok, with rising fuel prices the low mpg is a concern but the vehicle is achieving the expected mpg.
