Bentley has revealed a sportier and more powerful V8 Continental GT, the GT V8 S.
Power from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine has been boosted from 500bhp in the standard V8 to 521bhp here.
That’s 46bhp less than inthe flagship 6.0-litre W12, but despite the deficit, the V8 S coupé has the same 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds. That’s also three-tenths quicker than the standard V8. The convertible V8 S clocks a time of 4.7 seconds.
Official fuel economy in the Bentley Continental GT V8 S stands at 26.8mpg, which is just 0.1mpg worse than the standard V8, but a big improvement on the W12’s 19.5mpg figure.
The Bentley Continental GT V8 S gets lowered sports suspension, revised spring rates and a stiffer rear anti-roll bar. A new front splitter, side sills and a rear diffuser in gloss black further mark it out. Prices for the V8 S are likely to start at around £130,000.
