First official footage of the Jaguar F-Type, following its debut at the Paris Motor Show

This is the first official driving footage of the production version of the Jaguar F-Type.

Shown on a winding alpine road, the video doesn’t tell us much about the F-Type that we didn’t already know, but you can see the manual operation of the eight-speed automatic in operation.

The gears on the F-Type can be shifted manually either with small paddles mounted on the back of the spokes of the steering wheel, or by pushing the gearlever forward for a downshift, or pulling it back to go up a gear.

Three F-Type models will be available from launch. The F-Type and F-Type S are powered by a new 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine, producing 335bhp and 375bhp respectively. The range-topping F-Type V8 S gets a supercharged 488bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8.

Prices will start at £58,500 for the F-Type, rising to £67,500 for the F-Type S and a whopping £79,950 for the F-Type V8 S, when it goes on sale next spring.

Attraction by annoying? Rubbish filming. Chaotic direction. Badly clipped. Poorly composed. If this is to honor the heritage of the E-Type, even as a teaser, show us something iconic. Money well spend? Sure, it's a spectacular road.

So, a rival to the Boxster S at a 60% premium. Anyone think it will actually handle better ? P. S. What happened to the rear end ?

Thought it looked like a Boxster in some of the rear shots

Crappy video. Not worthy of the car. They need the guy who does shoots for Aston Martin.

I'm also having a real problem with the absence of a manual. Yeah, yeah, maybe more efficient and even a bit quicker. But where's the involvement? This is a driver's car, not another video game.

Love the rest.

Wouldn't like to meet them comming the other way. I saw the F-Type at the Paris show. I'd want a much better interior for so much money. Stationary at least, it make a well-specced Boxter look cheap.

Looks stunning from the rear
