The air is turning TrueBlue for Mercedes at the British Motor Show!

While Mercedes wheeled out a raft of freshly facelifted models, including the SLK coupe, it was the German maker's 'TrueBlue Solutions' being touted most. TrueBlue is the blanket name for the CO2-reducing tech set to appear in future Mercs.

To get the blue revolution in motion, A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks will appear in 2009 featuring the full ‘BluEFFICIENCY’ treatment, which reduces emissions and increases fuel economy. A ‘start-stop’ function and more slippery aerodynamics improve fuel consumption by up to 11 percent, making the BluEFFICIENCY models capable of comfortably over 60mpg, according to Mercedes

The eco technology will be incorporated into the entire range by 2010, starting with the latest C-Class in late 2009.

The new CLC coupe also made an appearance, though there was a distinct lack of brand new metal on display on the Stuttgart firm's stand. The new E-Class saloon will be unveiled at the Paris show in October.
