These are the latest images of the new BMW M4 Cabriolet, spied testing with very little camouflage ahead of its official debut at the New York Motor Show in April.
The M4 Cabriolet will share the same steel three-piece folding roof as the current 4 Series Convertible, allowing it to fold into the boot within 20 seconds with the car travelling up to speeds of 11mph.
BMW has re-engineered the new folding-roof on the 4 Series, improving soundproofing and bettering aerodynamics to reduce wind noise by two decibels.
Up front, the engine will be the same as that found in the M3 and the M4 coupe, a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine producing 425bhp and 550Nm of torque. Expect 0-62mph times to be slightly slower than the M4 coupe, a result of the weight added by the folding roof.
