After years of speculation and snatched spy-shots we've finally got our first clear look at Audi's BMW X1-rivalling Q3.
Despite the disguise, these pictures do begin to reveal how the Q3 will look. Much like the way an A6 looks like a small A8, many of the Q5's styling flourishes will make their way onto the Q3. Expect to see pronounced ridges on the bonnet and bulging wheelarches all making it on to the production model.
At the front, the camouflage hides Audi's trademark grille and a set of swept-back A1-inspired headlights. It's a similar story at the rear, with the angular tail-lights looking almost identical to those on Audi's premium supermini.
Underneath the skin, the Q3 will be based on the Volkswagen Tiguan with engine options including a 2.0-litre TFSI available in 168bhp and 208bhp guises. A 168bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine will also be offered. Six-speed manual and S-Tronic dual-clutch gearboxes.
Expect the quickest models to sprint from 0-62mph in just over six seconds with CO2 emissions ranging from around 150g/km in the most efficient to 170g/km in the least.
The Q3 will be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March with sales starting before the end of the year for around £24,000.

for people who couldnt afford a real 4x4
Stick A SEAT badge on it and lower its price buy 10k, Then ill buy it......
The only reason you would pay a premium to buy an Audi over a similarly engineered Golf or prefer it over similarly priced RWD BMs or Mercs is the design. This one seems to have all the finesse of a child's plastic pedal car. Even the camouflage can't make it look any better. Buy a proper Audi (longitudinally mounted engine + quattro permanent 4WD) or buy a Dacia Duster instead.
