Lexus has released a full-body teaser of the new NX, ahead of its official debut at the Beijing motor show later this month. The manufacturer's first premium compact SUV will be wading into a competitive market, currently dominated by the Audi Q3 and Range Rover Evoque.
The image gives little away, although it appears Lexus’ first premium compact crossover will bear a striking resemblance to the bold LF-NX concept we saw at last year’s Frankfurt and Tokyo motor shows.
As you can see, the Range Rover Evoque-rivalling SUV retains the large spindle grille, two-part headlight arrangement and angular LED daytime running lights that distinguished the original concepts design.
It also appears the radical styling of the concept has toned down slightly but sculpted lines across the flanks are noticeable. While the rest of the model remains hidden, expect the more restrained design to continue.
Lexus has remained tight-lipped about the NX but has said, 'With a striking design and use of advanced technologies, it will set new standards for other future Lexus models.'
We’ll keep you posted about specifications as they’re revealed, but at this stage it’s likely the concept's 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will feature. The NX is designed to slot below the RX in the Lexus line-up and is expected to go on sale later this year, starting from around £25,000.
