04th March 2008

It’s set to be one of the UK’s best-selling cars of next year, and it’s drawing big crowds at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Ford Fiesta is here!

Displayed in both three and five-door form, the supermini is set to take on Renault’s Clio and Vauxhall’s latest Corsa. The hatchback will go on sale in the UK in November.

Power will come from a choice of 1.25 and 1.4-litre duratec petrol engines along with a new 1.6-litre Ti-VCT unit, while diesel fans will be offered 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre TDCi motors. Later in 2008, a new ECOnetic version – capable of producing less than 100g/km of CO2 – will be announced.

Ford also announced during its Geneva presentation that it will launch a total of 20 new models and derivatives by the end of the year. Some of these will be made up of new luxury Titanium X versions of the Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy.
