Meet the latest addition to Audi’s motorsport portfolio. This TT is the work of the Technical Development and the Production divisions of the German firm’s Quattro division.

The TT GT4 is currently a concept, but will hit the track in 2012 as a customer car designed to offer what Audi claims is “affordable motorsport.” The TT GT4 will sell for around £100,000.

To make it race ready, the TT has been given a full roll cage and racing fuel tank. Power comes from a modified TFSI engine which produces 335bhp, connected to an S Tronic gearbox. The suspension is derived from the production car, but gains adjustable dampers.

The bodykit is inspired by the road-going TT RS, and the plastic windows are joined by carbon fibre reinforced plastic bonnet, doors and bootlid to save weight. Lightweight 18-inch alloys complete the look.

The TT has been designed for European race series, as well as a number of competitions in Asia, where interest in motorsport is beginning to take off. The car was launched at the DTM race in Shanghai, China where five-time Le Mans winner put the car through its paces.
