The new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG has made its virtual debut, ahead of the New York Motor Show

The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG has had its virtual unveiling as one of the stars in the new Driveclub game, set to be released on the Playstation 4.

The single rear shot reveals that it gets a similar look to standard CLA in the AMG Sport trim level, with large rear exhausts and intakes either side of the bumper.

The CLA is based on the same platform as the Mercedes A-Class hatch and will get the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine as the A45 AMG. The 355bhp unit will work in conjunction with a four-wheel-drive system to launch the CLA 45 AMG from 0-62mph in just under five seconds.

Expect to see new sports suspension and speed-sensitive AMG steering to help sharpen up the handling.

While the A45 AMG will be unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the CLA 45 AMG is expected to debut at the New York Motor Show later the same month.

However, Mercedes' small performance car family is set to grow even further with the addition of the GLA 45 AMG in 2014. This compact off-roader shares the same powertrain and platform as the CLA 45 and A45.

That ass is terrible looks like the fat bird you get stuck behind in a tesco que nothing fits and its all falling out everywhere

sexist BUT

very funny and true :)

And the ying-yang equilibrium is rebalanced. The good looking A-class meets its ugly fat sister. It looks like the bastard child of a CLS and a Suzuki Kizashi, both good looking cars, but not melded together

From some angles the CLA looks good. This rear angle is certainly not one of them. Its blinding fast though enough to worry Porsche 911. Getting this much power from a 2L engine is astonishing piece of engineering.

Good looking "A Class" are you feeling ok.
