Audi S6 spied

These are the shots that fast Audi fans have been waiting for! Our spies have been hard at work and have snapped the forthcoming S6 on its way from a German port to Gothenburg in Sweden. 

This might look like a standard A6 on the face of it, but giving the game away are the quad tailpipes, deeper bumpers and more aggressive side skirts. 

Power for the S6 is expected to come from the turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 also found in the Bentley Continental GT; however, it is expected that the Audi will tweak the engine to produce a power output over and above the Bentley’s 415bhp. The current S6 develops 429bhp from its naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 and Audi will be hoping to better that with the latest model.

As well as the styling features found on this test model, the S6 will also receive a revised grille and the firm’s traditional aluminium-effect housings for the door mirrors.The S6 is tipped to go on sale sometime in early 2012; meanwhile, you can read our first drive of the A6 here.
