Land Rover will launch two new option packs for its Defender at the Geneva Motor Show in March

Land Rover is set to launch two new option packs for the Defender at the Geneva Motor Show in March – the Black Pack and Silver Pack.

Available for the Defender XS model, the Black Pack adds a black finish to the roof, grille, wheelarches, headlamp surrounds and Defender badging. It’s also fitted with tinted windows and a choice of two gloss black alloy wheel designs.

Meanwhile, the Silver Pack comes with a silver roof to match the finish on the headlamp and grille surrounds. There’s a new Dual Finish alloy wheel included and white taillights.

Along with the two new option packs, Land Rover has also made a few more options available to Defender XS models. That includes tinted windows and new contrast leather seats with a choice of three colour schemes.

ABS and stability control used to be an option on some 90 and 110 wheelbase Defender models but now all UK-spec cars will be fitted with both features. ABS is also set to be available for the first time on the 130 wheelbase Defender from the third quarter of this year.

Wasn't it announced a couple of years back that production of the Defender was coming to an end because of emissions legislation? Was there a change of heart?
