A new initiative from Mercedes is using the four-door CLA coupe to help inspire fledgling filmmakers.
Called the #CLAstory and run via a microsite of the same name, the social media-led programme is inviting budding directors to contribute scenes for an online film starring actor and writer James Corden.
Three high-profile users of picture sharing site Instagram have provided the basic outline of the story, each having individually collaborated with Mercedes to create their own short film. These separately form the beginning, middle and end of the storyboard, leaving a total of six scenes missing and in need of filling.
Anyone can submit an entry to Mercedes UK’s Instagram channel for consideration, with a winning entry selected for all six of the segments awaiting completion. Following this, an overall winner will be determined by a public vote, and the successful film’s creator will be offered the chance to direct comedian James Corden in their #CLAstory.
He’ll star alongside the Mercedes CLA AMG Sport, and the end product will appear online on both the campaign’s dedicated website and social media. The successful filmmaker will also receive a Go Pro camera, as will the five runners up.
The final submission date for entries is July 6, shortly after which voting will open to decide the Grand Prize winner.
