While the finishing touches are being added to Bentley’s green giant, SEAT’s eco car is already a sales hit!
Since its launch in April, a total of 1,000 of the firm’s Ibiza ECOmotive models have been snapped up – and the milestone motorist to take the 1,000th car was Nigel Morgan, from Huby in North Yorkshire.
Changes to the Ibiza’s engine software and gearbox, as well as the addition of low-rolling-resistance tyres, mean light-footed drivers can record fuel economy figures of up to 88.3mpg. And CO2 emissions of just 99g/km make the car exempt from road tax. A new ECOmotive – based on the current Ibiza and SC bodystyles – will come out in the spring.
SEAT has promised it will be even more impressive in terms of fuel economy, with a figure of 94.1mpg predicted.
