Small is not always perfectly formed! SEAT’s Ibiza has been named as the most unreliable second-hand supermini by one cover provider.
Warranty Direct has revealed nearly half of those it has covered have developed mechanical faults, with suspension problems accounting for nearly 40 per cent of repairs.
Yet only one Honda Jazz in 10, and 13 per cent of Toyota Yarises, needed work. One Skoda Fabia in seven had cooling and heating issues, while Renault Clios were twice as likely to have engine failure. Brakes were the biggest issue for VW Polos, with one in 10 suffering problems.
