Toyota RAV4 updated for 2014
Toyota increases standard kit and drops the price on selected RAV4 models, to mark the SUVs 20th anniversary
Toyota is marking 20 years of the RAV4 by increasing standard kit and adding the option of four-wheel drive to more models. The original RAV4 was one of the first compact SUVs to go on sale in the UK, a long time before models like the Nissan Qashqai and VW Tiguan.
Mid-spec Icon and range-topping Invincible trims both now feature added kit, while entry-level Active sees a price reduction of £400. Icon gets keyless entry and push button start along with a new 18-inch alloy wheel design added to the kit list. Customers who spec Invincible trim can choose between two new leather interior designs, with all-round parking sensors also now fitted as standard.
All models – excluding Active – also come with the latest version of Toyota’s Touch 2 Go navigation system fitted. It’s the first system of its kind to feature Google Street View, with real-time HD traffic data from TomTom also included.
Further changes also mean the 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine now comes with the option of 4WD on Icon and Invincible models. The 122bhp motor is good for a claimed 53.3mpg, with CO2 emissions of 137g/km if paired with the six-speed manual gearbox. The only other engine option is a more powerful 147bhp 2.2-litre diesel engine. Emissions are a little higher at 149g/km, with economy claimed to be 49.6mpg – again if you opt for the six-speed manual gearbox.

All changes to the RAV4 have already made their way to showroom models, with prices starting from £22,195 and rising to the £29,295.
