Larger Toyota RAV4 has been spied testing ahead of 2013 launch

This heavily disguised 4x4 is the next Toyota RAV4.

These images show that the next version of Toyota’s hugely popular 4x4 will be larger, more spacious and more in tune with targeting the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Honda CRV.

It’s set to be built upon a modified version of the existing model’s chassis, which has been on the market since 2006. Available in both two- and four-wheel drive, the RAV4’s driveline will be refreshed with more efficient petrol and diesel powerplants improving in the current model’s best figures of 47.1mpg and 156g/km.

The RAV4 is already well equipped with a touchscreen and Toyota’s ‘Touch Audio System’ that includes Bluetooth, Rear View Camera, USB and iPod Connectivity, so expect more stylish and easier to use versions as seen in newer Toyotas such as the and Yaris.

The new RAV4 is due to go on sale in 2013 with pricing from around £25,000.
