Never let me down. The quoted mpg in sales brochure and by dealer is 61-62 mpg combined cycle. have never got better than 45mpg. I previously owned a mazda 6 from new with a quoted mpg of 52. I consistantly achieved 47-48mpg. I am doing exactly the same driving pattern in my cx5 as in my previous mazda 6. both the dealer and mazda are investigating but are implying it is the way I drive. other 'excuses' are that the brochure quoted figures are based on rolling road tests and my cx5 shape will have more wind resistance. if brochure figures don't take account of actually driving a car on the road what use are they. I have also been told at various tmes that I would see an improvement in mpg after 3000 miles,6000 miles and 10,000 miles. the mpg has never changed more than 1 or 2 mpg since new.the car has at present done around 6,000 plus.

Main vehicle components all appear to be reliable but some accessories are not reliable, eg auto-relock door function works 7 times out of ten. Main vehicle components all appear to be reliable but some accessories are not reliable, eg auto-relock door function works 7 times out of ten this was hailed by the motoring press as best-in-class fuel consumption - it is not – by far the worst fuel consumption of any vehicle ever owned – 2.2 deisel at steady 70 mph on motorway gives you 19 to 21 mpg (35 mpg overall by fuel measurement overall – worse than some petrol engine alternatives and my last vehicle 250c merc amg sport gave me 44.8 mpg over 72,000 miles), I suggest people buy a tiguan or yeti).

As the vehicle was only registered on 30th may 2012 and had only covered around 5000k I wouldn't have expected to have experienced any problems. and that has proved to be the case here. I purchased this vehicle from a mazda main dealer as a managing directors ex-demonstrator with only 3500 miles on the clock. so far, there hasn't been any reason to acsess the support of the service department. My other vehicle is a vauhall insignia 1.8 (petrol) 5 dr. in comparison to the vauxhall the 2.2 (175ps) mazda sport nav has delivered far better fuel economy. there have been no expenses as far as other sevice costs are concerned.

Had the vehicle for around 5 months and no problems so far but difficult to give it 5 as time is the definer of reliability. Fuel economy is not matching up to manufacturers quoted data and this is very dissapointing although for a car of its size and performance the economy is still pretty good. insurance is reasonable for a car of this type. not had any service work yet but it will be expensive as mazda usually are.

Ive had a few error warning lights and the engine possibly misses every so often. its never cut out on me though. Fuel economy was one of the primary issues why I bought it and it doesn't do anything like that. I was told to wait until id done 6000miles and I have, it still isnt any better, especially not on motorways!!

To date no issues or niggles. Mileage from may to december 2012 - 11142 / petrol purchased ł1,728.00 / average mpg 39. no other running cost purchases other than tax and insurance.

It has been excellent to date. The mileage covered is low and therefore the engine is still tight. I would expect the fuel consumption to increase as the mileage increases.

Haven't had it very long, bought new but have not had any teething troubles. Larger engine and bigger car than my previous (mazda 3) but more economical and less road tax.

Driven the car 8k miles since new - everything functioning perfectly. For a big 4x4 used "around the doors", I think 45 mpg average is pretty damn good.

Mpgs are not what I was expecting. the promotion materials state the mpg would be in the 50s but in reality it's a lot less than its major competitors.

This is the seventh mazda that we have owned and we have found them to be legendery for reliability. We find mazdas very good and economical to run.

One fault relating to the tyre pressure monitoring systeem. Expected the mpg to be higher based on manufacturers claims.

Although driven smoothly only achieve 44 mpg when billed as being much more, very poor mpg when at any speed.

No spare wheel and every puncture requires either "gunge" (means a new tyre) or pumping up till you get home.
