The all new Vauxhall Astra has been handed the Golden Steering Wheel award in the compact class... despite not even going on sale until December 11th.
Over 40 million readers, including those of Auto Express, from 26 different European countries were invited to vote for a shortlist of cars which were then tested by a panel of 50 experts including engineers, technicians and race drivers.
The Astra gained top marks in the engine, fuel consumption, chassis, braking, steering and driver assistance safety systems categories.
Yet another Award Farce
What a complete farce.
How can the public vote for any car that they have`nt seen in the flesh or driven or even touched.
This award is about on the level of a moronic TV dance or talent show which at least the brainless can see and hear what is going on.
