CarBuyer Car of the Year 2011

Having seen off the Land Rover Freelander, BMW X1 and Nissan Qashqai in our road tests, the Kia Sportage has continued its fantastic run of form by winning CarBuyer's Car of the Year award for 2011. 

As well as scooping the top prize, the stylish crossover also won the 'Best 4x4' category in carbuyer.co.uk's first ever awards. "With its seven-year warranty, good looks and capable diesel engine range, it's one of those few new cars that will satisfy your head, and your heart", said the website. 

Winners from a total of 17 categories were picked, with the Ford Fiesta taking home 'Best Small Car', the Skoda Yeti winning 'Best Family Car' and the BMW 3-Series awarded 'Best Executive Car'.
