When Kia first showed the new cee’d five-door model in Paris last week, they also presented two concepts of the cee’d estate and a three-door variant of the car the Korean’s hope will make life a bit harder for the VW Golf, Opel Astra and Ford Focus. While the station wagon displayed in France was quite close to the production model, the three-door was more a sporty stunner than anything close to the real thing. Our illustration gives a far more realistic preview of what you can expect at your local Kia dealer from summer 2007 onwards. The estate of the cee’d, shown here undergoing hot-weather testing in the U.S. will be available a bit earlier, so we expect it to arrive in spring next year with an official unveiling likely to take place at the Geneva Show in March 2007. For the Geneva Show in 2008 we can also imagine a coupé-convertible to arrive – something that would certainly boost both, image and sales for the South-Korean car manufacturer.
