Our spies have snapped a production-ready prototype of a facelifted Audi Q5, wearing only light camouflage on the areas that have been tweaked.
The most noticeable change is to the reshaped front grille which now matches the new Audi A3, revealed at the Geneva show. Also mimicking the new A3 are the new fog light sections cut into the front bumper, while a strip of tape along the bottom of the headlamp units hides new LED running lights. At the rear, the LED light clusters have also been changed slightly.
The model you see here is in SE spec, so makes do with plastic trim along the bottom edges of the bodywork and smaller wheels. Expect the S line models to be offered with optional 20-inch wheels and stiffer, lower suspension.
Expect the same choice of engines to be offered when sales begin towards the end of 2012, including 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TFSI units, as well as a 3.0 TDI. A high-performance Q5 S is on the cards too, using the supercharged 328hbp 3.0 V6 from the S5.
