We take a look at the brand-new, lightweight Porsche 911 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show

To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911, the German manufacturer has revealed the latest version of its 991-type 911 sportscar – the GT3.

Powered by a 468bhp, 3.8-litre flat-six engine, the GT3 will be available only with a twin-clutch PDK automatic gearbox. Surprisingly, there will be no manual option for the latest model – a first for the track-focused 911 GT3.

As always, emphasis has been put on lightweight materials and innovative technology in an effort to make the GT3 even more agile than before. The result is a car that weights 13 per cent less and one that can crack the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.5 seconds.

Prices start at just over £100,000, with the first customer deliveries later this year.
