BMW's new 5-Series - official footage

The previous model looks better

Forgive me BMW, but I must say that the current 5 Series looks far better, far more aggresive and far more modern looking than this 'poor man's 7 series' ! What are BMW thinking? One of the key reasons people buy a 5 series is because of it's kudos and stance, together with it's practicality. Bring back Chris Bangle, he brought to BMW what is needed most in the car industry; forward thinking! I think the new 5 series will fade into the background of mundane saloon cars within less than a year. JB, Guisborough

I couldn't disagree more with directbs. the last one had some 'unusual' lines whereas this new 5 has a more complete look about it. It looks sportier and I must say the rear looks 100 times better than the outgoing one. Finally the ugly stick has been lifted!

I know design is very subjective, but personally I think this looks rather dull, a little awkward and a bit ugly especially from the side. There is something at the front of the car looking at the flanks (front wheel/bumper) that doesn't hang together well. Maybe it will look better in the metal....
