After the huge success of the F-Pace, Jaguar is targeting <a href="https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bmw/x1">BMW X1</a> and <a href="https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/q3">Audi Q3</a> customers with the smaller E-Pace.

The Jaguar E-Pace is the first model from the marque to be based on a front-wheel-drive chassis since the X-Type.

The top spec model shares an engine with the popular F-Type. The in-line four produces 296bhp and 400Nm of torque.

With the top-of-the-line engine, the baby SUV will reach 62mph in a claimed 5.9 seconds.

While the development car we drove did not have them, buyers will have the option of paddles on the steering wheel to change gear.

Despite being smaller than the F-Pace, the E-Pace has decent shoulder and headroom for adults.
