Concours moves to Central London for this year's historic garden party

The 2013 Concours event is currently being staged at the Royal gardens of St James's, Central London, starting on 5 September and finishing on Saturday 7.

Sixty rare motor cars have been lined up for what is the most historic garden party of the year, in one of the largest gardens in Central London.

The St James's Concours of Elegance will be held in an area that encompasses the gardens of Marlborough House, Marlborough Road and St James's Palace.

Last year, the Concours event - held on the Royal lawns of Windsor Castle - raised in excess of £250,000 for charity. This year hopes to follow a similar format with 60 rare and historic cars coming from around the world, open to the public on Friday and Saturday.

His Royal Highness, Prince Michael of Kent, has agreed to become Patron of the Concours of Elegance this year. Prince Michael is President of The Royal Automobile Club and will officially open the Concours and attend the event, meeting owners and guests in person.
