We headed to Newcastle for a Great North Run of our own this month. The aim was to take cars from different sectors with almost identical fuel economy claims, and put them to a real-world test. The results threw up some impressive returns. Star performers were the Peugeot 107 and Honda Insight, which exceeded its official claimed consumption!
