Sorento shaping up

KIA’S next-generation Sorento is in the bag! This is the best spy shot yet of the Korean firm’s new SUV – which will go on sale in the UK later next year.

Following a mid-life facelift in 2006, the current Sorento is ready to be replaced – and Kia is keen to take the fight closer to rivals such as the Land Rover Freelander.

As you can see, testing of the next-generation SUV is almost complete. Despite the plastic bag disguise, it looks very similar to the current model and will boast the same dimensions, too.

It’s expected to offer a choice of cabin arrangements, with five or seven seats. Kia will concentrate on improving quality and, as well as the 2.5-litre turbodiesel currently offered, introduce some new engines, too.
