The W12 Speed version features a cylinder deactivation system, with Bentley claiming the new car's economy has increased by as much as 20 per cent in the real world.

Despite this, economy figures of 18.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 347g/km aren't really much to shout about.

Extra chrome detailing around the rear lights is one of a few tweaks to the exterior of the Continental GT.

The GT Speed weighs 2,395kg, meaning some hefty brakes are needed to bring the car to a stop.
