Mercedes's 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 is a better option as it provides 620nm of torque and 254bhp.

As usual with Mercedes there will be a AMG version with upgraded power output and a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds.

The GLE will get permanent four-wheel drive across the range.
