Our previous test winner used to lead the way with its auto-fill function from your car’s reg, but rivals have since caught up, so it loses its edge. The design is basic and easy to fathom and it uses a series of drop-down menus which take slightly longer to complete than rivals. It was one of the quickest to return the quotes, though, and there was a good range of prices from a variety of providers. One negative was that it automatically included a voluntary excess, so take care when looking at the results. Still, we liked the ease with which extras like windscreen cover could be added.
