Salon Prive 2012 gallery

We’ve been to the preview day for the UK’s most exclusive supercar show

Salon Prive, the UK’s most prestigious car show, kicked off on Friday with an exclusive media preview, ahead of the September show at Syon Park in West London.

In the past, Salon Prive has seen numerous UK and world debuts, and this year is set to be no different. Among the premieres will be the first Eterniti Artemis – a Porsche Cayenne based, 600bhp super SUV – and the ultra-exclusive Touring Superleggera Disco Volante – an Italian coachbuilt model based on the Alfa Romeo 8C, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The media event featured two Gulf-liveried cars from the ROFGO Gulf collection. In September, 18 of the 22 light-blue and orange cars sponsored by Gulf will be on display at Salon Prive – the first time such a large number have been seen in one place at one time.

Part of the show includes a ‘best in class’ feature. This year, competing cars will include a selection of Ferrari F40s and a 60th Anniversary celebration of the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.

In addition to these, there will be a collection of Shooting Brakes on display, including Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay’s unique Ferrari 330GT, which we snapped at the event today.

Tickets for the prestigious Salon Prive, which runs from 5-7 September, cost from £195 per day.
