The Mercedes G-class is designed to add luxury to the off-roader car market. 

The G-class will be extremely expensive to run on daily basis. 

Over the years the G-class has become more and more kitted out with technology and luxurious leather. 

The AMG variant of the G-class features a 5.5-litre V8 with a 0-62mph time of 5.4 seconds. 

On the road the G-Class feels bouncy and unresponsive. 

Take the car off-road and the story changes, it perfoms very well here as it's equipped with locking differentials and a mechnical four-wheel drive system.  

The G-Class is well built and from pevious testing no problems have been found. 

The rear seats can do with being a little more spacious. 

The boot is very practical at 2,250-litres.

The boot is self-operated and opens sideways allowing for a great deal of room behind the G-class.
