BMW i3s 2018 in-depth review - pictures
The BMW i3 was designed to be a fully electric city car from the ground up, and uses carbon fibre to help keep weight to a minimum.
The unique and futuristic design means it shows no signs of looking outdated and it remains miles ahead of many of its competition.
A sporty i3S was added to the range, with revised styling and slightly more powerful electric motor. When accelerating, the i3S gives a hot hatch troubling 0-62mph time of 6.9 seconds.
Different driving modes can be selected such as Sport, for a sharper driving experience or Eco Plus, which gives the i3 the best possible range.
The i3 is claimed to be capable of 193 miles between charges, although BMW says that ‘real-world’ range is around 162 miles.
The i3 goes up against an increasingly competitive segment, with electric rivals such as the Renault ZOE, Nissan Leaf and Volkswagen e-Golf.
