SsangYong Tivoli ELX diesel 2015 - pictures
The Tivoli is Ssangyong's latest car and perhaps it's most surprising, offering a package much closer to the class leaders than we would have expected from the South Korean brand.
Slotting into the compact crossover class alongside the Nissan Juke the Tivoli offers an eye-catching design, though slightly less extrovert than the Nissan.

The Tivoli has a huge kit list and even the entry level model comes with LED running lights and taillights, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Surprisingly for a budget manufacturer, the interior is decent quality and uses good materials, with scratchy plastic only used on out-of-sight areas.

The Tivoli has one of the biggest cabins in the class and there's room for a six-foot passenger to sit behind a similarly sized driver.
The boot is a good size too, but despite the long equipment list you have to pay extra for an adjustable floor.

We found the petrol version of the Tivoli sluggish - but the diesel tested here is much more urgent and makes for an easier drive.
The diesel engine offers good economy and CO2 figures of 65.7mpg and 113g/km.

The Tivoli is an uninspiring but easy drive.
The six-speed manual gearbox is accurate and the optional six-speed auto is smooth.

Residuals are a shady subject with a relatively unknown manufacturer such as SsangYong.
