DS 4 Crossback 2016 review - pictures

The unloved Citroen DS4 has been refreshed and with that comes a name change - to simply DS 4.

The DS 4 Crossback is a more rugged, crossover variant of the standard DS 4.

It's pitched as a luxury product and only comes in top-spec 'Prestige' trim.

The car driven here is the entry-level 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel, which is very economical but not quick.

The DS 4 Crossback has an improved ride over the standard car, but it's still too harsh for UK roads.

Inside there's plenty of equipment but it's a pity the material quality hasn't been improved.

Sat-nav and climate control are included.

The biggest issue in the rear is the feeling of claustrophobia, thanks to a lack of headroom and non-opening rear windows.

The boot is a competitive size next to its main rivals.
