WD-40 has been helping to keep cars moving since 1953 – but it’s all change for the blue and yellow bottle, with the company introducing seven new formulas.

The company’s Specialist range sits alongside the classic WD-40 – and unlike the multi-use original, the new products have been tailored to specific tasks. They include a Silicone Lubricant to prevent parts from sticking, plus a Penetrant to loosen seized metals and White Lithium Grease to help reduce metal-on-metal friction.

There’s also High Performance PTFE Lubricant for tools, a Dry PTFE Lubricant for plastics and glass and a fast-acting engine bay Degreaser. Completing the range is a Contact Cleaner that helps remove dirt, dust and deposits from battery terminals. The Degreaser is available in a 500ml can, while all the other products come in 400ml spray cans. Each product costs £6.99.

WD-40 has also rolled out its clever Smart Straw spray cap across its range. The design has been used since 2007, and fixes permanently to the can to spray two ways: simply flip it up for a precision stream and down for a regular spray.
