Mini compressors

Mini compressors

After checking your tyres with our top pressure gauge one of the easiest ways to restore the correct levels is with a mini compressor powered off the cigar lighter. Designs have improved markedly in recent years with the best boasting rapid pumping, lights and digital gauges. Our full test (here) gives you an idea of how we came to these conclusions.

Ring RAC600

Price: £19.49
Two multi-test wins on the trot make this the easy choice for a Product Award. It does everything we want – rapid pumping, pressure presets, accurate gauge and there is even a tough case. What’s worrying for the opposition is that its been superseded and its successor is even better.

Michelin Hi-power Tyre Inflator
Contact: 0800 591859 www.michelin.co.uk
Price: £39.99
Super design from Michelin ticks a lot of boxes as you get a super accurate, removable digital gauge as well as an effective but quiet pump. There’s also lidded storage for the power cable and a slot for the air hose which has our preferred screw on valve connector. Top quality at a top price.

Michelin Hi-Power Rapid Inflator
Contact: 0800 591859 www.michelin.co.uk
Price: £44.95
Rapid version of the Michelin inflator showed a useful 25 per cent improvement over the standard unit for a fiver more. Both boast a similar high specification with long air hoses and power cables, screw-on valve connectors with air releases although has a built-in digital pressure gauge. More top quality but at a price.
