Audi A4 S Line review - pictures

The Audi A4 has always been an 'also-ran' in the compact executive sector, but this time Audi is serious about taking on the Jaguar XE and BMW 3 Series.

What your money really buys you is quality. The interior is the best in the class with fine materials everywhere and far exceeds its closest rivals. 

S line models get part-leather seats as standard, but full leather can be specced as an option, along with plenty of other expensivr add-ons.

Room in the rear is good, with plenty of head and leg room.

As is always the case with a new Audi, the design is more of an evolution than evolution. 

S line trim gets a sportier bodykit than the standard models, though, which brings a bit of added visual interest.

LED headlights are standard on S line models.

They look especially smart and feature Audi's latest LED technology.

Rear lights are equally as sharp as the front.

Sweeping indicators move from left to right when turned on, giving a premium look to the car.

18-inch alloys are standard on the A4 S line, but they combine with the lowered suspension to give a firm ride at low and high speeds.

Boot is well-shaped and big, at 480 litres, and this expands to 965 litres with the rear seats folded.

Apple CarPlay comes part of Audi's impressive infotainment and smartphone integration package. 

All A4s have a good-looking screen with MMI multimedia system. The screen is clear and smart.

Eight-speed auto 'box features on this model. The car sprints from 0-62mph in just 5.3 secs. 

MMI controller controls all the infotainment. 

Quality is top-notch and is better than everything else in this sector. 

Virtual Cockpit now features and looks fantastic.

Sunroof adds light to the spacious cabin. 

It's undeniable that this is the best A4 to date.
