  • BMW 3 Series Touring - nose

We're testing the BMW 3-Series Touring after its mid-life refresh.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - front cornering

The model tested here is the 335d with xDrive four-wheel-drive system.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - interior

Inside it's business as usual with a sporty driving position and well-built cabin.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - rear seats

There's greater room for passengers in this Touring estate model.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - boot

The boot gets a class-leading 450 litres of luggage space, rising to 1500 litres with the rear seats down.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - front tracking

The xDrive four-wheel-drive system provides masses of grip.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - side

The 335d tested here is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-6 diesel engine which delivers 313bhp and 630Nm of torque.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - static

The 335d is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - rear static

There's no manual option but the eight-speed automatic gearbox is smooth and quick.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - exterior detail

This 335d only comes in M Sport spec - which adds a bodykit, full leather and 18-inch alloy wheels.

  • BMW 3 Series Touring - xDrive badge

For our money we'd go for the 330d xDrive if you must have four-wheel drive, or otherwise the 330d M Sport.
