<span>BMW has added its xDrive four-wheel drive system to the range. It comes as standard on cars with the most powerful 435d diesel engine, and gives the 4 Series a planted, secure feel on the road.</span>
<span>If you want tighter responses, go for the 4 Series M Sport, but the SE is still better to drive than its most direct rivals.</span>
