The BMW X4 is a downsized X6 and is based on the same platform as the X3, sharing it's engines.
The coupe/SUV styling won't appeal to everyone but the success of the X6 suggests that the BMW X4 will be very popular indeed.

There are only three trim levels, but a long options list - all cars are well equipped, though.
Boot space is down compared to the X3 on which this car is based - rear headroom is restricted, too, though it's only an issue if using the middle seat.

The BMW X4's ride depends on what size wheels it has - M Sport cars have 19 inch alloys and sports suspension making for a fairly firm and crashy ride.
The BMW X4's interior is almost identical to the X3, which is a good thing as it retains that cars clean, uncluttered design and great build quality.

The most popular version is expected to be the 20d four-cylinder diesel, which is the only car with a manual gearbox - but the six-cylinder automatic diesels are also excellent.
Whichever engine you choose, the BMW X4's four-wheel-drive system gives it huge levels of grip and makes this car great in the corners.
