Much has been made of Haas’s approach to F1, buying as many parts off the shelf from Ferrari as the rules will allow. But the team has never been afraid of ruffling feathers, as shown by its acquisition of Rich Energy as sponsor for 2019. The energy drink firm has set rival Red Bull in its crosshairs, with a tweet on the first day of testing containing the hashtag ‘#fasterthanredbull’ after a minor triumph on the timesheets. Similarly, Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean will have their elbows out in 2019; if either gets the upper hand, the other could be left without a drive in 2020. The pressure is on.
