Sailun Atrezzo 4Seasons review
The Sailun's disappointing braking scores outweigh any potential cost saving

- Score: 95.2%
- Ranking: 6th
- Price: £98
The budget all-season Sailun wears the 3PMSF symbol, which shows it has passed tests proving its ability in snow conditions. Despite that, it was last in all three of those tests, taking 5m longer to get up to speed than the best in the traction test and then taking over 4.5m longer to stop. It lacked traction and lateral grip around the snow circuit, but had a useful adjustability.
It was a similar story in the wet. The Sailun took almost 5m more to stop from 50mph than the best and 3m more than even the fifth-placed tyre. It also finished last around the handling circuit but, as on the snow, it wasn’t that far off the pace, feeling decent at low speeds but worryingly skittish at higher speeds. It fared better in the deeper water, finishing fourth in straight aquaplaning and equal second in the curved test.
It was last again in dry braking, taking 5.6m longer to stop than the best and yet it topped the table in dry handling, although first to sixth places were covered by less than one second. The Sailun was quietest, too, but recorded the highest rolling resistance, making it the least economical tyre here.
We say:
“Poor braking performance in snow, wet and dry means this budget tyre is no bargain.”
Blackcircles.com says:
“We are unable to provide any insight into the tyre’s popularity or performance with customers at present.”
