Peugeot 308 SW UK road test pictures

The new 308 SW is Peugeot's latest attempt at a family estate car.

The SW has a much longer body and wheelbase than the hatch, affording more space inside.

Inside, the SW's dash is the same as the one on the hatch - which means high-set dials that not everybody gets on with and a central touchscreen controlling almost all of the cars functions.

The 308 SW has a wide range of engines including a great 1.2-litre e-THP petrol unit.

The 308 carries Peugeot's smart family face first seen on the facelifted 508.

The suspension is soft and unsettled over the bumps, but models fitted with the larger alloy wheels are noticably firmer.

The 308 uses a new platform that will underpin many future Peugeot and Citroen models.

The 308 is at its best with a diesel engine, and the 1.6-litre BlueHDi unit suits the car well.

Most cars get a six-speed manual.
