The 308 carries Peugeot's smart family face first seen on the facelifted 508.

The suspension is soft and unsettled over the bumps, but models fitted with the larger alloy wheels are noticably firmer.

The 308 is at its best with a diesel engine, and the 1.6-litre BlueHDi unit suits the car well.
