New Toyota Aygo 2014 review - pictures

  • Toyota Aygo front

The Toyota Aygo aims to combine compact dimensions, stylish looks and cheap running costs.

  • Toyota Aygo rear

This second-generation Toyota Aygo, like its predecessor, shares its platform and mechanics with the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1.

  • Toyota Aygo interior

While the interior looks modern and attractive, the Toyota Aygo still feels quite cheap in places thanks to some hard and scratchy plastics.

  • Toyota Aygo boot

The Aygo's boot is shallow, but deep and has a capacity of 168 litres. Rivals from VW, Skoda and Hyundai all offer more than 250 litres, though.

  • Toyota Aygo LED

LED daytime running lights are standard on the Aygo to contribute to the new car's funky look.

  • Toyota Aygo front cornering

The Toyota Aygo stands out from the rest in its class due to its bold styling and personalisation options.

  • Toyota Aygo nose

The Toyota Aygo comes with a three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine with the option of a five-speed manual or x-shift automatic gearbox.

  • Toyota Aygo rear light

The steering in the Toyota Aygo is light and accurate and the car feels nimble in the corners, however it does suffer from body roll.

  • Toyota Aygo rear seat

The rear seats in the Toyota Aygo are rather cramped and it is hard to access if you go for the 3-door version.

  • Toyota Aygo dash

The touch screen infotainment system is a new addition in the Toyota Aygo, keeping up to date with rivals.
